Healthcare remains one of the most pressing needs in underserved communities, where access to quality services is often out of reach. Yet, through dedicated efforts and collaborative partnerships, Safal MRM Foundation continues to break barriers, bringing essential medical services to the people who need them the most.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In November and December 2024, Safal MRM Foundation, through the Mabati Medical Centre, spearheaded two transformative medical camps: the Annual Mega Medical Camp on 17th November and the Buildher Medical Camp on 1st<\/sup> December. These events exemplified the Foundation\u2019s unwavering commitment to improving community health and addressing the gaps in Kenya\u2019s healthcare system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mabati Medical Centre\u2019s 22nd<\/sup> Annual Mega Medical Camp was a collaborative powerhouse, bringing together the Lions Club of Mombasa Pwani, KDF Mariakani Barracks, Gertrude Children\u2019s Hospital, Belgium medical students, and Mabati Technical Training Institute volunteers. Over 1,500 patients flocked to the Mabati Medical Centre, many arriving before dawn, to access services ranging from general consultations and pediatric care to specialized E.N.T. and dental services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

By the day\u2019s end, 1,583 individuals had received care, with services tailored to meet the diverse health needs of the community. The statistics speak volumes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

General consultations: 894 patients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eye care: 317 patients, including 39 cataract cases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dental services: 122 patients, with 66 extractions performed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ultrasound scans: 34 conducted, with follow-ups scheduled for 15 cases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additional services included diabetes checks, physician consultations, and pediatric care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just weeks later, the Buildher Medical Camp followed suit, focusing specifically on empowering women in construction through vital health services. A total of 153 patients were attended to, with tailored services designed to address the unique health challenges faced by women in this demanding industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The camp provided cervical cancer screenings for 51 women, empowering them with the knowledge and tools to detect one of the most prevalent cancers affecting women. It also offered breast cancer self-examination education to 42 women, giving them the ability to identify early warning signs and take proactive steps toward better health. The inclusion of family planning services, free medication, and essential laboratory tests such as malaria screenings, pregnancy tests, and blood sugar evaluations provided comprehensive healthcare, often unavailable to women in the construction sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For many of these women, the Buildher Medical Camp was more than just a health intervention, it was a reminder that their well-being matters. It also reinforced the idea that women in construction, a traditionally male-dominated field, deserve the same level of attention and care as any other worker. The services offered didn\u2019t just impact the women themselves, they had a ripple effect, improving the health and well-being of their families and the communities they support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A key element of the success of the Buildher Medical Camp was the invaluable support from the Premchandbai Foundation. The Foundation\u2019s commitment to empowering young people in the medical field was evident through the active participation of its scholarship beneficiaries, many of whom are now medical students and aspiring doctors. These bright minds, shaped by the opportunities provided by the Foundation, volunteered their time and expertise during the camp, offering essential medical services to the women in construction. Their involvement is a powerful example of the lasting impact of the Premchandbai Foundation\u2019s investment in education, showing how the next generation of healthcare professionals is being nurtured to not only pursue their dreams but also give back to their communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both medical camps were more than just events; they were lifelines for vulnerable communities often overlooked in conventional healthcare systems.
