Margaret Njeri

Administration Officer – MRM Coated Steel- Mariakani

Mary Njeri has been one of the regular and committed volunteers for the Safal MRM Foundation. Despite her busy schedule working as an Administrative Officer at the Mabati Rolling Mills, she always finds time to support the annual Mega Medical Camp at the Mabati Medical Clinic. She has been using her skills and experience to help to coordinate the logistics of the day including working closely with staff and vendors to ensure that the day event is successful. Margaret believes that voluntary work is giving hope and inspiration to those in need.  She reiterates that volunteering allows her to care for the needy members of the society and showing love to those who might have found themselves in unfortunate situations or facing some form of vulnerability.

Margaret believes that doing good is rewarding and fulfilling.  She says “You feel good when you have volunteered and it is always the joy of the work and the people we meet that sustain me in my volunteer efforts’’

Her advice to the youth is that volunteerism is a good way of sharpening your skills and networking with more people.  She encourages young people to take advantage of any opportunity to give their r time because it about personal satisfaction and a sense of wellbeing.

Parting shot: As Mahatma Gandhi said “The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the services of others”. When you are serving others you learn yourself in the process.
