Amos Kazungu; The Power of Showing Up

At Mabati Technical Training Institute (MTTI), we believe in the transformative power of technical vocational training. Amos Kazungu’s story is a testament to how these technical vocational skills can change lives and create a lasting impact in the community.

Amos Kazungu Kaingu, a young man from a small village in Taru, Kwale County, is a shining example of determination and resilience. Raised by a single mother of seven, Amos faced numerous challenges but never wavered in his pursuit of a better future. After completing his Kenya Certificate of Primary Education, Amos enrolled in our certificate program in Light Vehicle Mechanics at MTTI in Mariakani.

From the beginning, Amos stood out for his dedication and hard work. His commitment to his studies and his exceptional performance caught the attention of his instructors and peers. Equipped with the technical skills in light vehicle mechanics, Amos was ready for the next step in his journey.

His attachment to Bahari Forwarders was a crucial turning point. Despite the completion of 3 months of industrial attachment, Amos continued to show up to work, demonstrating an unwavering dedication that did not go unnoticed. His diligence and commitment were recognized, and on May 6th, 2024, Amos was offered a contractual employment position at Bahari Forwarders.

The skills Amos acquired at MTTI not only prepared him for this employment but also instilled in him a sense of purpose and determination. This job has gone on to provide Amos with a decent income, enabling him to support his family and contribute to their well-being. Amos has become a role model in his community and has continued to inspire his peers not to give up in life.

The benefits of Amos’ success extend beyond his personal achievements. His employment at Bahari Forwarders has positively impacted his family and community at large. His commitment to perfection, quality service and excellent customer service has enabled him to stand out in the workplace.  Moreover, the knowledge and expertise he brings to his job, enhance the quality of services provided by Bahari Forwarders.
