On October 21, 2024, Mabati Technical Training Institute (MTTI) came alive with energy as alumni returned to their ‘alma mater’ for the annual reunion. Hosted by Mabati Technical Training Institute, this event is a cherished tradition, reconnecting graduates who have walked the Institute’s halls, mastered valuable skills, and embarked on journeys of professional and personal growth. The alumni reunion is more than a gathering, it’s a celebration of progress, empowerment, and the profound impact MTTI has had on young lives since its founding.
With over 16,000 youth trained in diverse technical fields like welding, electrical installation, masonry, and plumbing, MTTI’s alumni network is a testament to the power of vocational education in uplifting individuals and their communities. This year’s reunion underscored MTTI’s role not just as an educational institution but as a cornerstone for lifelong mentorship and community.

Alumni were able to reconnect with fellow graduates, sharing their experiences and career journeys with each other and with current trainees. These interactions provide invaluable mentorship, encouraging trainees to envision their potential, and instilling confidence for life beyond graduation. The impact of MTTI goes beyond vocational training. We are building a network of empowered individuals contributing to their communities’ economic development.
Nurturing Talents and Creativity through MTTI’s Cultural Week:
Earlier in June 2024, MTTI held its vibrant Cultural Week, a celebration of heritage, creativity, and the diverse talents of its students. During this event, trainees showcased their skills in music, dance, drama, and more, bringing together the entire campus in a joyful expression of culture. Safal MRM Foundation views this celebration as more than entertainment; it’s a way to nurture the creative talents of MTTI’s trainees, fostering creativity, confidence and unity, which complements their technical training.
Cultural Week is a reminder that MTTI is dedicated to developing skilled professionals and well-rounded individuals. By investing in both technical and creative growth, MTTI equips students with resilience, adaptability, and self-assurance, qualities that empower them to succeed in a changing world.

A Legacy of Lifelong Support:
Beyond graduation, MTTI’s commitment to its alumni remains strong. Through its Career Services Office, the institute offers continued support in job placement and internship opportunities, helping graduates smoothly transition into the workforce. Programs like the Boda Boda Rider Training in Kilifi County highlight Safal MRM Foundation’s dedication to providing essential tools for sustainable livelihoods and financial independence to the youth.
As alumni gathered this October, they rekindled friendships, celebrated achievements, and inspired the next generation. MTTI’s alumni reunion is a powerful reminder of the life-changing impact of education, mentorship, and community empowerment, a legacy that Safal MRM Foundation is proud to uphold for the youth of Kenya.
