On 15th and 16th August 2025, the Safal MRM Foundation, in partnership with Mabati Rolling Mills and the Premchandbhai Foundation, led a transformative Medical Camp and Humanitarian Outreach in Oloika Village, Kajiado County.
In just two days, 2,242 patients received free medical services ranging from general consultations, mother and child welfare, immunization, oral health, eye screening, and cancer awareness. At the same time, over 2,000 households benefitted from food hampers and supplies, bringing hope and dignity to families facing harsh realities.
Oloika village is a remote, semi-arid community where access to healthcare remains limited and sometimes entirely out of reach. Families often travel long distances in search of specialized care, and vulnerable groups, especially mothers, children, and people with disabilities, face even greater barriers.
The Safal MRM Foundation has walked alongside this community before, supporting flood relief efforts in 2024 and distributing solar lamps to help children learn beyond daylight hours. This outreach was therefore not just about providing care for two days, but part of a continued commitment to building resilience and dignity in Oloika.

A Collective Effort
This initiative was made possible by the strength of collaboration and the spirit of volunteerism:
- Mabati Medical Centre doctors and nurses led general consultations, screenings, and vital health education.
- Premchandbhai Foundation donated 1,000 food hampers, distributed across more than 2,000 households. The Foundation’s scholarship beneficiaries also volunteered, guiding patients, supporting medical staff, and assisting in humanitarian distribution.
- Mabati Rolling Mills provided logistical support, overall sponsorship, and dedicated staff volunteers who ensured smooth distribution of the food hampers
- Minet Kenya mobilized specialized medical partners, Optica, Kitengela West Hospital, King David Hospital, and Supreme Dental Care, to deliver critical dental, optical, and referral services.
- Giants Group Twiga brightened the camp with donations of snacks for children.
- Shrimad Rajchandra Love and Care supported the outreach with essential medical supplies that strengthened service delivery, and also provided snacks for children, ensuring that even the youngest beneficiaries felt cared for and included.
The Human Stories Behind the Numbers
Behind every statistic stood a story of courage and hope:
- Mothers walked for miles under the scorching sun, carrying babies on their backs, determined to secure immunizations.
- Children who had never visited a dentist or an eye specialist before smiled shyly after their first check-up.
- A young boy, after receiving treatment, shared that he dreams of becoming a doctor, inspired by the compassion he witnessed from medical teams.
Volunteers shared moments of laughter and connection with the Maasai community, experiencing the warmth of culture, tradition, and resilience. This wasn’t just service delivery; it was humanity in action.

Challenges and Resilience
Delivering such an outreach in Oloika came with its share of challenges:
- Language barriers made patient communication difficult, requiring volunteers to step in as translators.
- Distance and accessibility were constant hurdles, families walked long distances to reach the dispensary, and transporting medical supplies across rough terrain demanded meticulous planning.
- Limited infrastructure stretched the teams, as the small dispensary had to accommodate the large patient turnout.
- Logistical pressures tested both patience and resources, yet through teamwork and persistence, services continued seamlessly.
These challenges did not diminish the impact. Instead, they highlighted the resilience of both the community and the teams who stood by them.
